EU mobility package creates a shortage of capacities
EU mobility package
Emons generally welcomes and supports all legislative provisions aimed at improving competitive and working conditions. Optimum working conditions and the well-being of drivers represent a decisive success factor for Emons and are the focus of entrepreneurial activities. The fleet of Emons Transporte GmbH consists exclusively of vehicles registered in Germany.
In the following, we will inform you about the key points of the EU mobility package:
EU Mobility Package I: Since July 2020, the regular weekly rest period may no longer be spent in the vehicle.
New from February 2022 EU Mobility Package II
- The obligation to return to the company headquarters every 4 weeks with at least 45 hours of uninterrupted stay is intended to improve the working conditions of drivers.
- Obligation of vehicles to return at least every 8 weeks to the company headquarters where the vehicle is registered.
- Capacities are reduced as a result of the 4-day cooling period following cabotage in the Member State
- All international transport of commercial goods by road with vehicles over 2.5 t maximum permitted mass (previously 3.5 t) is subject to approval.
- Documentation of the border crossing at the first stop
- Increased effort due to new reporting requirements
