Hazardous substances specialist LDB strengthens Emons portfolio

Emons invests in LDB Group

With retroactive effect from January 1, 2025, Emons is strategically investing in the LDB Group in Baden, which consists of the two operating units LDB Logistik GmbH and LDB Transport GmbH. The successful medium-sized company employs around 100 people. Major shareholder and managing director Torsten Fellmoser (57) continues to steer the fortunes of the LDB Group.

The logistics service provider has locations in Bühl and Rastatt. The field of activity is divided into five business areas: warehouse/logistics and services, dangerous goods logistics, contract packaging, shop logistics and transport logistics. LDB Transport GmbH operates 30 of its own vehicles (mega trailers, trailer trains and jumbo vehicles), including an eActros 300.

The LDB Group has made a name for itself, particularly in the area of hazardous materials storage. The capacities of LDB Logistik GmbH's hazardous materials warehouse at the headquarters in Bühl have just been increased to 8,100 parking spaces as a result of an expansion measure. At the same time, the entire hall was equipped with the latest sprinkler technology, fire protection technology and fire-fighting water retention technology. 14 different hazardous substances can now be stored in four storage sections. In addition, there is another hall with 1,600 parking spaces for harmless goods and a large work area for assembly work as well as 5,700 pick boxes for shop logistics. Two more warehouses for block storage complete the portfolio in Bühl. In Rastatt, LDB has 13,000 pallet parking spaces.

Both family businesses focus on quality and close trusting customer relationships as well as sustainable action for the future.

“LDB is the ideal addition to the Emons portfolio. Warehouse logistics in the hazardous materials sector is ideally suited to meeting the demands of our existing customers. LDB vehicles fit perfectly into our fleet expansion strategy. LDB's motto “Doesn't work — doesn't exist” is also exactly in line with Emons' philosophy,” explains Ralf Wieland, CEO of Emons.

“Emons is strategically investing in the LDB Group. With our many years of expertise in hazardous materials storage, we complement Emons' range of services and at the same time benefit from the global network,” confirms LDB managing director Torsten Fellmoser. “It was also important to me personally that my professional life's work continues successfully. This works better in conjunction with Emons,” says Fellmoser. “In addition, it was just right from the start between Mr. Wieland and me. ”

The new partners are looking forward to a harmonious and successful collaboration.

The credo of both contract partners: We are stronger together! Emons and the LDB Group are looking forward to jointly marketing the additional capacities in the expanded hazardous materials warehouse, which will be officially opened in April, and to fully exploit the synergies of the partnership.
